New Handson System Launch January 2026 - Training Sessions Now Available

The new Handson system will be launching in January 2026. Training sessions are now available to help you prepare for this transition and learn the enhanced features of the updated system.

Training for Department Staff

All available training sessions can be found on the Handson support page.

Initially, we will offer two training courses for a primary audience of DFOs, ADs, and other H&S staff who handle funding commitments or faculty data in Handson. We plan to offer multiple sessions for each course, in order to accommodate varied schedules.

  • Training 1: Funding Commitment Module

    • Browsing and searching commitment records
    • Creating commitments
    • Commitment approval workflows
    • Comment and collaboration features
  • Training 2: Faculty and A&P Modules

    • Navigating faculty records
    • Academic, administrative, and courtesy appointments
    • Tracking credits for sabbaticals, leaves, and professional development
    • Preparation of appointment and promotion forms within Handson

Training for Dean's Office Staff

The H&S IT team will present at least one dedicated training session for each Dean's Office team. These sessions will be tailored to your specific workflows and responsibilities within the new system.

Additional Support Resources

After go-live, the Handson user manual will be available on the Handson support page; this includes how-to guides, job aids with screenshots, frequently asked questions, and contact information to request direct support.
